Hello World

“Hello world! My old friend. It’s another day. Glad to see you again,”

It’s a beautiful day.

Welcome to my junk drawer!

For many years, I began each day with Red Grammer’s, “Hello World. “ We sang it together as a morning greeting and welcomed not only each other but the world around us. It helped turn the children in our classroom into a family.

Back in 2008, I started this blog and chose Hello World as my first post. Life intervened.

There were children to raise, grandchildren to love, classrooms to fill, stories to collect and memories to find.

Now 18 years later, I find myself back where I began. I started this blog and never really began. Life happened instead.

Over the years I filled boxes, journals, bread boxes, photo albums, and junk drawers with memories, letters, stories, and treasures too precious to throw away.

Now, after raising a family, teaching children, and becoming Grandma Suzie to ten beautiful children under the age of ten, I’ve decided it’s time to stop searching and start writing.

So, hello world. Pull up a chair. There are stories to tell.
